Wonderful Lunch with Italian friends

Recently I met some Italian friends in Kano Moto Club
Today I was invited by a Italian who born in Africa and stay in Nigeria for over 45 years, when I arrive he told me other friend came to visit him so I met a other Italian  this guy stay more then 50 years in Nigeria as well.
As usual Italian are famous for art of foods so we had nice chesses pasta with bacon from Rome Italy then delicious Prawn.

After lunch we are chatting I ask them how was life in Africa and Nigeria also we discuss about life different between Asia, Europe and African, it was so nice and interest talk with the person who have so much life experience.

And they are show me the old photos it was complete touch my heart to feel so lucky I can share the beautiful Saturday afternoon with the lovely friends.

奈國醫院生存記

週一的凌晨兩點突然間覺肚子不太舒服起床上廁所發現自己的排泄物呈現水狀,心想大概是吃到不乾淨的食物了,進出廁所幾次後應該可以睡了吧?? 但是拉肚子的狀況持續不斷再加上腹部的間歇性的劇烈絞痛使的我根本無法入睡.

心理盤算著應該是傷寒2008年時我曾經中標那次簡直去了我半條命只求我能撐到司機上工帶我去醫院.

凌晨4點發了簡訊給司機請他盡可能早點到公司我需要看醫生,絞痛的狀況及進出廁所的次數持續增加中.

到了快六點天亮了我實在是忍不住腹部的絞痛我等不了司機決定自己走路到醫院,其實離我住的地方並不遠但是在間歇性的劇烈絞痛情況下我只能走走停停,這時路上空無一人,天空剛露出微光,突然間覺得自己好可憐喔,淚光在眼眶裡打轉快要不聽話的掉下來了,但是抬頭看到微亮的天空,泛著橘紅色的雲彩仿佛在給我希望.

步履蹣跚的走進醫院平常這段路5分鐘可以走到我花了25分鐘才走到.

這是家私人高級醫院提供24小時的急診服務,當我進入醫院時只看到守衛在門口我問他要去那掛號?他用手指著二樓,我費力的走向二樓發現室內一片戚黑一個人影也沒看到在椅子躺了10分鐘實在受不了我又走到樓下去找守衛但他正忙著晨禱我只好向他說對不起,我不想打擾你但我等了10分鐘一個人影也沒看到我實是很不舒服需要立即治療.

他也很熱心的到二樓敲了謢士的門告訴她有病人,我聽到有人回應後就繼續在等待20分鐘又過了,還是沒人出來我只好忍痛試著找守衛先生幫忙,我前找後找就是找不到他,不過我看到一位疑似醫生的先生我趕緊問他請問你是醫生嗎?

以下我和醫生的對話

醫生:是的我是

Jumy:我已經等了超過半小時了,你可以馬上幫我看病嗎

醫生:是的可以!你沒看見我的車嗎?

Jumy:我怎知道那是你的車,而且我和守衛先生敲了謢士的門但是都沒有人出來

醫生:你怎麼了

Jumy:從2點拉肚子及腹部間歇性絞痛直持到現在

醫生:喔那我給你開點藥吃吧

Jumy:什麼藥

醫生:就是肚子痛的藥有一個是粉未加水你吃了就會好了

Jumy:什麼?你連昨天我吃了什麼東西及疾病史都沒問我你怎可以如此下定論呢?這個情形跟我2008年在Lagos染上傷寒時的情形很相似,而我會在清晨6點走住貴醫院表示我真的很嚴重無法忍受,我不會這樣拿了藥就離開的你必須抽血檢驗我到底是啥毛病,而且你必須馬上幫我注射讓我減輕疼痛然後要幫我打頭滴因為我的身體的食物及水分都在腹瀉中流失殆盡.

醫生:喔你得傷寒以這情形有可能是傷寒.

終於我被安排進病床,護士慢條斯理的拿了注射藥物及點滴幫我注射進入血管

由於是血管注射一下子藥物就發生了作用,我開始處於昏沉的狀況但是間歇性絞痛還是持續,不過情形有較為緩和,終於到了早上9點化驗室的人員上班從我身上取了一管血準備去化驗,我追問結果何時會出來,他說在中午前會出來

陸續不斷的注射及點滴,其中有一管藥物注射後我整個人冒冷汗暈眩及噁心最後吐了胃中最後的食物,當時護士在旁邊我問她說我這樣正常嗎??她說有些人比較敏感可能會發生這種狀況吐完就會好多了,我也半信半疑的又進入昏睡的狀態.

到了下午我持續追問化驗結果得到總是報告尚未出來,這中間護士也很少巡房只有在注射時或是點滴打完時才會進來,由於藥物及我極為疲累的關係大多數我都在昏睡的狀態,但是突然間我發現管子裡怎都是血??原來藥物注射完畢謢士也沒注意我還得自己到門外告知..

到了下午2點又打了新的點滴但是沒多久我就突然間劇烈急遽的咳嗽無法停止,

我只好立起身體但是情況持續大約20分鐘左右終於緩和下來了,當下我並沒有警覺到點滴的問題,因為本人很少有大的病痛這是我第二次注射點滴或是躺臥在病床所以我也不太了解…

到了下午六點報告終於出爐護士說沒有傷寒…??我心裡的os怎可能呢??

而且謢士說我可以回家叫我下去跟醫生討論我的報告.

我進了醫生辦公室

醫生看了報告說你有傷寒加上急性腸胃炎使得你的狀況比一般嚴重你必須在觀察一晚才能回出院,

啊!!怎會這樣呢??我到底要聽誰的??

不過我還是想要回家因為醫院裡一大堆蚊子,住一晚恐怕傷寒還沒好又染上瘧疾了,所以我表面答應醫生我回家洗澡吃完飯就回來其實我打定主意要回家好好睡覺.

結果回家喝了杯水後又跑了三次廁所吃了稀飯又跑了三次,命中注定我得回醫院了,開始請佣人打包一些東西,最後帶上蚊帳又回到醫院了.

先讓我吃了藥又持續打了三個藥物及點滴到了11點我也進入了夢鄉,還好我帶上蚊帳不能我可能無法入睡因為蚊子真的好多喔…

早上六點護士又注射了三袋藥物到了7點又開始打點滴突然間昨日下午的情形又發生了劇烈急遽的咳嗽我只好座到椅子上不過這次又比昨天更嚴重咳的我幾乎無法呼吸…這樣持續了半小時,到了8點點滴打完了,我到病房外把還在睡在椅子上護士醒,把點滴拿掉我又昏睡了…

到了早上10點多醫生來了,問我身體情況如何?有沒有哪裡不舒服的??

我把今早及昨日打點滴時所發生的情狀形容了一遍

醫生說我會把他列入紀錄可能是點滴打太快了!!!

我頓時三條線!!

醫生說我想要讓你留院觀察到晚上,你今天應該不用工作吧!!

我的媽啊!!我還是先跑回家再說吧!!

但是我跟醫生說若有不舒服一定會回診.

拿了藥回家後就GOOLE了一下打點滴這檔事,當下頓時頭頂冒冷汗!!原來點滴不能打太快也不能打太慢,太慢沒效果,太快會心臟會無法負荷正常約在3-4小時間打完…..

我居然在1小時打完!!難怪我咳到無法呼吸!!而醫生居然只是輕描淡寫的帶過說:會記錄!!!

我想如果我的心臟若是不夠強我想我會掛在醫院而死亡報告會是因為此人病的太重無法醫治,根本不會有人知道我是因為點滴打太快而掛的吧???

一周過去了我的呼吸還是不太順暢咳嗽持續中.. 但是大致上身體漸漸康復中.

我想奈國很多人是因為醫療疏失而喪命,由我個人經驗可窺知一般,我是在私人醫院想必公立醫院的水準及服務不及一半吧!!

總之我是過了這關了!!希望永遠都不用在奈及利亞就醫!!

Solo Dinner

I can do most of things alone, Solo Travel, Movies, Shopping, Sports….many things I could and enjoy by myself , well there have one things I don’t like be alone is Dinner, especially live alone and don’t body can dinner with..

Sometimes I don’t feel I want eat because whatever you cook just yourself eat no body can share with, when I had dinner I feel lonely but I still trying my best cook the foods and enjoy it.

My Lovely roommate Mimi

I get a very cute and sweet young boy be my roommate right now…

Wow he always come to me and play with me, finally I am not alone here.

His name is Mimi, he like play and sleep near by me feet, really cute and sweet and I like him so much.

Mimi also like sleep a lot I guess he sleep more then 16 hours per day, I think he is so lucky can sleep so hours and don’t need work and worry about life…

                                     How cute he is !!!

The Curfew still there and not much things to do in Kano

Cooking is my life and hobby here.

Still under curfew in Kano

Well after the attacks Kano still under curfew from 6pm to 6am, during the day times police and army, watch the motor and bike passing them, they will just want the bike driver use walking and stop the motor ask what do you have inside, if you say no, they will just let you go, without checking so I really don’t understand what’s the meaning stop driver just want watching people walking??

Last week Boko Haram came to attacks Police station again this time they use gun fire not sure how many died but before the police and army arrived Boko Haram already gone. So most of people don’t believe they government will stop the Boko Haram in the short time.

Due to the Boko Haram issue they army and police are entry Kano to search and check , they will do any how and no respect person , even they could killing person with no responsible .

So I am wondering who is Terrorists is Boko Haram or Nigeria Government??

Kano Life after Boko Haram attacks

Since the seriously bombing attacks by Boko Haram Kano is become very quiet and some people fear so leave the city.

this is after the attacks one motor shout by the Police or Bkok Haram the driver die for for the gun shot,i pass there few days ago.

 here still under the curfew  from 6pm to 6am so after night you wouldn’t see anyone on the road so is look like calm but is kind of strange and tense.

in the night any movement or sound come out we will feel nervous worry about might the Boko Haram attacks Kano again, so one night I hear three gun shot I was a little bite nervous but it was just gun shot near by the house.

In the day the army and police will check every where put a lot of check point trying search suspicious people,

 they will ask the motorbike driver push the bike past the check point to check everybody past the point, well I don’t know it will work or not but just hope Kano will return normal very soon..

My favorite Nigeria foods Pounded Yam and Egusi with Fish

Today my house girl cook my favorite foods Pounded Yam and Egusi with Fish, I love so much very testy.

Yam is part of major food in Nigeria is just like rice for Taiwanese, there have many type way to cook yam like: boiling, fried… but I like Pounded Yam.

                                 First you need boiling the yam until become soft

                     then punch it then add some water then become like a ball.

Unforgettable Chinese New Year in Kano

Chinese new year for is very important for Taiwanese so me and other co-workers will come from other city to join have dinner in most big Chinese restaurant in Kano. But unfortunately two days ago they Boko Haram (Boko Haram promotes a version of Islam which makes it "haram", or forbidden, for Muslims to take part in any political or social activity associated with Western society) more information check here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boko_Haram

Had attacks Kano 5 police station, immigration and passport office, almost over 200 people dies for this bombing attacks .so we have cancel the party for the security reason.

I am only one in Kano so I invite my stuffs who live in the company join dinner with me, then I will not be only one here, so I ask my house girl cooking Nigeria foods then I cook two dish, because most of market is not open because the seriously attacks so I don’t have too much choose, so I cook Fish and broccoli.

Most of my stuffs is first time try Chinese foods, I trying teach them how to eat,

fortunately they like it so we had nice Chinese new year party in this difficult moment.

                                Happy Chinese New Year for every one!!

Fish Market in Kano

I grew up in Taiwan, so I can get very nice sea foods all the time, since I stay in Kano every day I miss the fresh sea foods. One day ask my driver where can I get fresh sea foods, he told me there have Fish Market in Kano.

So last week we went to the fish market well you can’t expecting too much in Africa so when I arrive the Market I was a little bit upset but I still looking around,

 there almost no nice fish, finally I pick up the better one, the fish man ask how many do I want buy?

 I told him I am only one stay here so I would like get 2 fish , first he give 1,000 Naira( 6.25 dollar)

then I cut price for 700 Naira(4.3 dollar).
